100,000 Page Views on Hub Pages
66THANK YOU HUB PAGES
I sincerely thank my friends and fans for putting me over 100,000 Page Views on HubPages last week.
I started writing Hubs on April 7th, 2009, and this is my 138th Published Article.
Just a few days ago, I gained the 1200th regular Follower of my work.
In all, I have had more than 14,000 Comments on my Hubs.
All of this makes me grateful for the encouragement I have received.
ADVICE FOR HUB PAGES
I get requests for Advice for Success on HubPages fairly often. I have covered that as best as I am able in the Hub to which the link in the previous sentence will take you. I do also answer specific questions via email when I receive them.
OS GUINNESS
Shortly after I started writing Hubs, I attended a luncheon at which the keynote speaker was the famous author, Os Guinness. I was honored to give him a ride to the airport afterward, and during that drive we had an interesting conversation about writing. Dr. Guinness told me that his goal as a writer is to take macro concepts and articulate them in simple language, easily understood by the public. I have read many of his books, and I told him that while I understood his works, the comprehension didn’t always come easily as I admittedly don’t have his Oxford education. I told him about HubPages and that my goal in writing would be to break down concepts such as his to the common vernacular, in order that they might be understood by a wider audience. Dr. Guinness seemed quite pleased by this idea.
HUBPAGES
Writing Hubs—original articles with pictures for the Internet—has proven to be a joyous journey for me. This venue has afforded me the opportunity to learn the craft of writing by using the extraordinarily user-friendly platform that HubPages provides. The interaction with my readers provides hours of intellectual stimulation.
CENSORSHIP ON HUBPAGES
I have run into censorship twice while writing on HubPages, and both instances were the direct result of complaints filed by those who oppose my point of view. One of my Hubs featured a photograph of an aborted baby; the fetus was ripped to shreds, and it was important to the message I was attempting to convey in my story. That story ran unmolested for six weeks until HubPages removed my Hub, and it was only republished after I deleted the photo. Afterwards, another Hubber bragged to me about being the person who had asked for it to be removed. She said that while there was nothing wrong with abortion, showing the results of an abortion was obscene. My other experience with censorship involved words and photos that depicted common homosexual behaviors (no nudity or profanity). I have come to realize that although certain readers claim to support other viewpoints; they are either unable or unwilling to “look” at the reality.
HUBS
The Hubber Community is made up of a great bunch of folks from all over the world. I did write a Hub by request that sought to explain Why Atheist Social Liberals are so nasty on Hubpages. I also wrote a Hub celebrating my 50,000th page view that is entitled My Experiences on Hub Pages. In that Hub I’ve listed my top ten Hubs in regard to Page Views. Those listed continue have a place among my twenty most popular, and they have since been joined by the following: Amateur Pornography; Women of Fox News; Home For Sale Owner Bankrupt; Payne Stewart Plane Crash; The Progressive Movement; Renaissance Paintings; Fine Arts; St Paul the Apostle; The Obama Nation; and How did Christianity Begin.
WRITING HUBS
When I started writing Hubs, I decided to commit myself to producing 156 Hubs in one year and see what happens. I have 18 Hubs to go, and I am on pace to finish this project by April 6th, 2010. I hope to gain steady, gainful employment as a writer after this date. I have a book I am working on about the effect on American culture and society of my generation, the Baby Boomers—the Woodstock Generation. And it has been suggested that my Hubs could be collated into a book, or perhaps some of them. We shall see what we shall see. Until then, I remain thankful for each and every person who has taken the time to read my work.

very nice hub thnaks
San Diego would be nicer than Sacramento, but unfortunately I live in Sacramento. However, you are welcome to my humble abode or a great coffee shop downtown, coffee's on me either way.
Sorry I am late on the Congratulations. I became ill. The worst part is I forgot the illness. I remember crutches and thats all. How quick I forget.
Very nice hub. You will definitely be known as a great writer. Your words are so smoothly blending into one another in such a perfect manner. In my humble opinion. And God Bless you. Beautiful photos too.
James I have not always agreed with you, however, I do like what you write. I like your frankness in expressing yourself and your opinions. I do not feel that you are offensive, and you have a right to express yourself. I like it and I will write you back and give you mine when I disagree and hated it when they try to take you off of Hub page. Keep being frank, this is why I read your hubs.
Congratulations James! I wish you even more success in the future!
You've really accomplished alot and should be proud of yourself. The censorship is not right. If you don't like a hub go to the next one. That abortion picture should be viewed, no matter how disturbing. It's truth and should be shown so we CAN'T turn our heads. How can we feel anything if we ignore it?
Keep up the great work, James! You rock!
Congratulations James. My hub "Food, Faggots and Peas thank Wales for this Dish"was marked as "Adult content" and was threatened with removal! Computers!!
Congratulations on a magnificent achievement.
Well done James! You should be getting tons more now you have been featured on the front page! Great stuff! And to the next x million! hehehe
You are an inspiration to us all. Good luck with your book, I am sure you will be very successful. Great hub.
Beside the obvious fact that you write great hubs, those about historical facts are simply wonderful, I think the main reason behind your success is that even if someone disagrees with your point of view on something it's still possible to have a polite conversation. That is you accept different point of view even if you don't share the same ideas, and this transpire from your comments pretty well.
So we have a great writer and a person able to discuss his own ideas with calm while at the same time appreciating different opinions. Am I wrong?
Congratulations James.
Hi James. That's terrific. I'm sure that whatever goals you've set for yourself you will achieve. Congratulations.
James, I believe you will always be apart of HubPages, Since your Roots are here and your supporters, Actually whats nice we will all have the oppurtunity to travel along with you, as you share your experiences, any many of us will continue to grow and learn from you.
Thank you James, for being my fan and everything. Enjoy.
Well done and congratulations on all the hard work you have put in. As they say, “Sow and ye shall reap.”
The censorship thing irritates me in the following way. It's okay for someone to make a valid point, and to back that point up with anything that can additionally validate that point. That kind of stuff should never be censored. Even if I go to a hub, and find myself in disagreement with the point, I will never rate the hub down so long as the hub is written on point, intelligently, and with thought and conviction. I mean, if a guy is simply saying, for example, "all people who support the abolishment of abortion are ignorant and stupid Bible-toting (I'm not a Bible-toter BTW, for the record) nincumpoop (please check the spelling of that, it's a word I very rarely, if ever use) who would no more recognize a hole in the ground from his own..."
Okay, I think you get the point.
That's not an argument against abortion. It's nothing that offers anything thoughtful or meaningful to the conversation. It simply debunks without credibility or fact to back it all up. That kind of stuff SHOULD be flagged. That kind of stuff SHOULD be rated down. The writer obviously is unable to formulate a cohesive thought.
Though I fear you will always have someone who simply disagrees who will try to quiet you up. That's the law of the land. It's a difficult thing to fight and I am sorry it has happened to you.
But congrats on the views and congrats on the fans. It's testament that what you have to say must be cohesive, on point, and factual in nature. Otherwise why else would anyone bother to read at all? :)
Can I honestly say that I'm a bit jealous you've got so many people reading and writing to the powers that be that you were censored at all? Man. Now that's something to write home about. :)
go baby, we are with you.
WoW!! That is an amazing accomplishment!! Congratulations James!!
Congratulations, James! I, myself, have read quite a few of your hubs and have enjoyed them. Best wishes for your continued success as a writer.
Wow! That's impressive stats! I was wondering if you might do a hub explaining what gives you the number rating by hubpages? Is it commenting? New hubs? Page views? Hubs with high rankings? What makes your profile loose points just overnight?
Congratulation to you, James for your great success. I like your writing right from the beginning as your each article is full of details and history and that has given me inspiration in my writing.
Congrats! I'm at 99 Hubs . . . tomorrow, I'll write Hub number 100! I'm excited. Great to hear about 100,000 page views for you.
JAMES! A BIG "Virtual HUG" and congrads to an awesome and amazing person!
You know what I think of you ;
I think you are so talented and a fantastic writer and I know you will do some wonderful things in the literary world! I'm "waiting" for your first book! G
James, I've mentioned it before and now again, I found your work on a Google search of a Christian topic and you popped up, then I had to register to reply/ comment and then I hit a wall saying the e-mail was in use and it turned out that I had registered before, I couldn't remember for what but I chased it down and got a new password then jumped on your wagon to follow what else you had and now it is great to see you in my mail box. You are in the top 3 of hubbers I read faithfully, even if it is a topic I don't care for, at the end I will have learned something even if it is an understanding of who you are and the style you represent.
My prayers are out for you and your wife, and I hope you will release a book, 'cuz I'll buy it! You told me your wife's name and my old man brain is working for a memory, "Nancy?" comes to mind. I like my prayers to be specific but God knows who I mean. Blessings to you and her and the little dog may health and happiness come knocking at your door daily. Dusty
Congratulations for you James. That the result of your hard work. Never seems so easy without effort. And you had done well. Success for you. Thanks
Wow, James! 12,000 followers and 14,000 comments? Simply amazing. I don't know anyone else here on HubPags that gets as many comments as you. You really are a beacon to many of us and so it's no wonder so many of us are fascinated by all that you do.
Good luck on you book by the way! Perhaps one day we'll meet at a writer's conference my friend.

It looks like you have a constant and uninterrupted flow of thoughts pouring on your computer screen through your keyboard. I hope you continue writing the way you are as we all love to read your write ups. BTW that sizzling pic of Katrina Kaif as your editor made me smile. She definitely adds flavor to the hub. :)

Congratulations! You deserve the accolades! You are very talented on many fronts and the readers know it and have rewarded you with praise. May you continue to write as you showed in your hubs the love of writing. Above all, you are always a gentleman in your remarks! Bless God for your talents! I hope your wife is OK.
Fantastic, it is great to hear of such achivement.Good on you
Congratulations to you!!!
James, i commend you on your goal and sticking to your convictions. i have a thought for you. Why look for a job writing? Have you ever considered starting a Christian based magazine and offering spots from your readers to write articles and subjects you might select or within a non biased content that allows for exploration of the many subjects that are not carried in other denominational Christian perspectives? (Truth, a mainstay, not ones view of truth to keep away the flakes) i think that there is room for a broader spectrum of diverse thought to be engaged at the level where people actually live. This is obvious as we see the diversity of Christian writers that are here.(Howbeit we all error in many ways until Christ is ALL in us) This would take some very serious planning and structure. i won't say more as to give away the total idea and other thoughts i have as i think about it. (and no i did not have this going on in the back of my mind, i actually just thought of it after reading your thoughts and comments, and i'm committed to another venture)
Anyway just something to throw your way. In the short time i have been on HP i have enjoyed what you have shared. Keep walking in the light and talking from your heart for Christ. It shows.
Thank you for the compliment regarding my handle. A pleasure to know you. L.
Congrates on a well earned tribute...onward James and proof people are reading helps the words to continue to come...
Blessings
Here's to the next 100,000 James. We sometimes have differing views but hopefully we are both adult enough to accept that. One thing for sure-you write great Hubs my friend
Congrats James. I enjoy your writing. They are strong and powerful and hook the reader at the first line. Can tell you worked hard and put a lot of passion in what you write. So heres to you! Cheers!
James, your 100,000 page views are well deserved. You never fail to write interesting, well-researched and insightful articles.
Here's to the next 100,000.
100,000....... wow! Somehow it feels like I've been here before........ but wait, that was 50,000 views ago!
"Milestones are amazing, but I don't think you've gotten anywhere close to where you're going. Everyday gives us just one more. Sometimes we have to jump over them, sometimes we just stare at the mile marker like someone's playing a joke on us, and at other times we push that marker a little further into the ground just to prove to ourselves that we've been there."
Life is good....... just be sure to take in the scenery while you're checking off those markers.......... it's a beautiful world.
Congrats James! As a reader, I'd suggest that the pleasure has been all mine as I enjoy your work very much. Best, Sis
From near bankruptcy to this achievement in just a couple of months is amazing. But, when I think about it, perhaps not so amazing. A man with your tenacity, experience and talents could never go under. You think and act positively and show an immense amount of gratitude to everyone who supports you. A man who inspires through intelligence and modesty. Good for you James. Let us know when that book comes out, I, for one, will buy it.
Jean
Congratulations James! I find your hubs very stimulating and easy to read. So, you are writing a non-fiction book I take it?
congratulations james this is a wonderful achievement and i wish you all the best in your future of writing
