300,000 hits on my Hubs
71My Hubs have received 300,000 Visits!
We're having a party, yeah, yeah! Everybody's invited! The new generation along with the old.
We are celebrating the 300,000th visit to my Hubs—internet magazine articles with pictures. This milestone was hit yesterday, November 11, 2010, which was also Veterans Day in America.
I have been writing Hubs for 19 months now. I published exactly 200 Hubs before this one.
From the day I started writing Hubs, it took me seven months to reach 50,000 Page Views; 10 1/2 months to hit 100,000; 15 months to hit 200,000.
I took the summer off from "Hubbing" to work on my first book. I didn't finish the book yet. Two drafts have been completed, but I still have a ways to go before I would feel it is ready for public consumption. In a couple of weeks, I will take another hiatus from HubPages and finish the book.
In the mean time: Thank you for coming to my party!
My Most Popular Hubs Ever
Of the 200 Hubs I have created, these 20 Hubs are the most popular:
The Origin of the Christian Faith
Genghis Khan and the Mongol Empire
My Home is for Sale; I am Bankrupt
The Pros and Cons of Capitalism
Writing Hubs on Hub Pages
It is been a real joy to create these 200 Hubs. I never know which Hubs will gain a large audience. Many Hubs have started out slowly only to gain a good-sized number of Page Views after catching some mysterious second wind a few months later.
My most ambitious project has been a series on the History of the Christian Faith. It is up to 30 Hubs so far, and I am only up to the year 1600.
I have published Hubs about Television News, Relationships, Science, Aviation, Painting, HubPages, Dogs, Home & Family, Movies, Economics, Fashion, History, The Teachings of the Bible, Politics, Travel, Photography, Who God Is, Baseball, Space Exploration, Writing, Book Reviews, Food, Etiquette, Rock Music, and about my band White Summer.
My least popular Hubs
Sometimes I publish a Hub that I think people will be interested in but for some reason it just doesn't click. These are my 20 least viewed Hubs of all time:
White Summer: The Red Album is about my band, the music business, and the making of our third album. Included are videos of four of our original songs.
Alexis de Tocqueville and his books about America
My Friend the Artist Dara Daniel
White Summer II is about my band, the band members, our classic rock song list, and the songwriting process. It includes videos of an original song from our fifth album (Running from the Light), and two live recordings of us playing smoking hot versions of All Along the Watchtower and Green River.
Supreme Court Progressives is where I uncover the effects on America of progressive judges making law from the bench.
My First Album of Original Rock Music features videos of four original songs, and describes the experience of recording in a studio for the first time at 20 years old.
Global Financial Crisis seeks to explain how the mortgage meltdown caused the worldwide recession we are still experiencing.
Rock Music in the 1960s talks about how I got started as a singer and musician, and about my four favorite bands from the sixties.
White Summer III is about my band again. :D This Hub is about music, my band, our yearly reunion concerts, and features two original songs from our last album: Mother Earth and Without Love.
The Chicago Cubs is about my lifelong love affair with the Cubs; my experiences as a baseball player; how I learned the game from Lou Boudreau and Steve Stone; and then focuses on the 1990s with Harry Carey, Sammy Sosa, Mark Grace, and Kerry Wood.
Christian History 1200 is about what was happening around 1200 with the development of the Christian Faith and Europe itself. It includes St Francis of Assisi; the founding of the Franciscans & Dominicans; the Magna Carta; the plough; the invention of national flags; the 4th and 5th Crusades; and a study of the Catholic doctrines of the Virgin Mary; the Holy Eucharist; and the Community of Saints.
Rock Music in the 1980s discusses great changes in the music business; the homogenization of popular music by producers; and the making of our 4th album.
New Testament is a brief summary of the General Epistles.
Dr Samuel Johnson features a brief bio of the great man and a shortened version of the eulogy he wrote for his wife, which I find quite moving.
Dr Johnson is a brief bio of Dr Samuel Johnson; and a short version of a tremendous sermon he wrote for hire about how the wicked justify their wickedness in their own minds. Deep!
Conservatives Defend the American Way
The History of Israel covers exactly that from the founding of the modern State of Israel in 1948 through the Six Day War in 1967.
Baseball in America is a brief explanation of the game; how baseball is like life; a compilation of the greatest baseball quotes; and a look at some of the most beautiful baseball parks.
My Rock Band White Summer is about life on the road with the band and features a video of one original song of ours called Victoria as well as our version of Moondance.
Hub Pages is great!
Hub Pages is great because they provide an outstanding platform for publishing internet magazine articles with pictures and videos. The HubPages platform is so easy to use that even I can do it! And I hunt and peck!
On Hub Pages we have a Community of fine writers. I have learned much from them. They also read my work and critique it for me, which is invaluable. The conversations generated from the "Comments" section are fascinating.
HubPages has been a great blessing to me. It has allowed me to hone my craft as a writer; and I get a check every month now. Most of all, I have made a lot of new friends here.
Other Hubs About Hub Pages
I have written seven previous Hubs about Hubbing:
100,000 Page Views Later is about when I hit that milestone. I also write about my concept and aims of writing Hubs; the writing process; and issues with censorship by HubPages.
Goodbye my Friends was written the day I quit Hub Pages in a huff over censorship, and because two of my Hubs were flagged for duplicate content. It includes a few nice pics.
My Experiences on Hub Pages commemorates the day I hit 50,000 Page Views. I talk about the HubPages Community; how and why I write Hub Pages; How I got started on Hub Pages; and why I love the statistics page.
Why are Atheist Social Liberals so Nasty on HubPages
Advice for Success on HubPages
One Year on Hub Pages in which I write about myself a little; the book I am writing; about how I choose my subjects; about my strategy or philosophy in regard to HubPages; and I touch on reading the work of other Hubbers.
200,000 Page Views on Hub Pages was written in July 2010 when I hit that milestone. I write about what Hubs are; being snubbed by HubPages Staff; a bit about Google Adsense; and about having four of my Hubs demonetized by Hub Pages Staff.

Good stuff!
Hi James. Your daughter Shelby is beautiful! I see where she gets her good looks ;) Your hub on The Art in my home was actually the second hub I read and your piece motivated me to join up so you can take credit for that too! I hope they paid you for it. Here's to those big checks (glasses clink in a toast)

Congrats brother. Love em all. Much blessings for the future.
Hey, Congratulations...its an achievement for sure!! Keep on hubbing!!!
You inspire me, keep it up.
Hello James!
Congratulations-you, sure, deserve the recognition! You've written so much regarding faith and Christianity; can't wait to read them! Keep writing. May God bless you and the wonderful work that you're doing. Btw, just want to let you know that you have a very lovely family!:-)
I'm a little late getting to this (two jobs keeps me pretty busy), but Congratulations! I like that you have shared your accomplishments (and struggles) in this current hub. I particular enjoyed the part about your unpopular hubs. I always remember one of my creative writing teachers saying, "You have to write what you are interested in, not what you think other people are interested in." So, even if other those other hubs weren't as popular, at least you enjoyed writing them because your heart was in it :)
Keep up the good work, Mr. Watkins! And good luck with finishing your book!
Hello Mr. Watkins, and congratulations on reaching 300,000 views on HubPages! I can only imagine how exciting that feeling must be. WOW!!
Please forgive my long span of absences, but between looking for work (I haven't worked in almost 2-years), studying to stay sharp, and writing on the side for Examiner.com to keep busy, I don't have much time left to do everything I want. Lol!
I know how busy you are, but if you have time, please take a quick look-see at my recipe pages for Examiner. I am very proud of it. I actually receive a lot of views. 'Guess people are into cooking, well, at least into the hobby of reading recipes.

I always keep you in my prayers.
Here's sending you love, in Christ Jesus,
VKA
Congrats James!! Beautiful family! You always do an amazing job on your hubs.I think you and your hubs are awesome!:)
Hey James congrats on all your views. I must say the last few times I have seen you on here you were begging people for some page views so that you could get the roaches out of your house. I guess that ploy worked well for ya huh? One minutes your broke and the next your celebrating with all kinds of "blessings" from God. Or is it from your paypal account that you set up for people who you suckered into sending you money and to view your hubs. Wow you really are brazen...By the way, you are featured once again on that website that I posted. Blah hahahahah
300,000 visits, congratulations! You're an inspiration.
Congratulations!! I am very new to Hub pages and new to writing too. (at60). Started writing only after I retired. Any way will stay with Hub pages till the day you reach the million and after . Planning to read as much as possible from your hubs to .. Learn and follow. Thanks Thanks
That's a lot of hits. Keep taking the hits!
James,
So many accomplishments, can't remember which ones I have given congrats for. 300,000 views, 2000 fans, etc., etc. But congrats on them all, they are well deserved and sure to be just the start.
James-congratulations. What an accomplishment. I'm glad you included the House of David on the most popular. I cannot imagine it NOT making that list.
Good job. Metaphorically, you've made a better Hub mousetrap and people are beating a footpath to your door.
Hey Bravo! I just love that celebratory spirit (and photos). You've inspired me to celebrate when I reach that milestone. Yay!
Hi James, - Let me Congratulate you for a new high. It is because your writings are excellent in all respect and in brief as well.
Hi James.....Hey I've been reading more of your stuff, and your band was good brother. Are you still pounding the drums?
On another note: I was raised Catholic...Parochial school and the whole nine yards. One of my influences from there was an "old school" German-Irish priest, a man among men to be sure. He taught us the classics in the classroom, and boxing in the gym. As a result of that influence, I learned to hate a bully, and I have seen quite a bit of so-called "intellectual" bullying going on here at HubPages. I read you hub "Why are Atheist Social Liberals so nasty on HubPages?" I am in agreement that we should "raise our discourse".
To make a long story short, I'd like to ask you a favor...Will you read my hub titled "Gods Assurance...So Easy Even A "preythiest" Can Understand it"? Ultimately, I would appreciate a comment from you because it may carry some influence with readers. If you do not care for the article, or for any reason choose not to leave a comment then no problem. I will still be reading your stuff. I have made the content of the article as broad reaching across religion lines as I can think to do because I am attempting to appeal to everyone that believes in decency.
Wow Okay, I want to say congratulation too! I'm wondering how long will it takes for me to reach such number. You an inspiration to all of us.
James, I am so extremely proud of you. I have always been proud of you. I haven't really drank alcohol in around 15 years, God took it away from me and I thank Him for it. But when I did, I was a 3 fisted drinker myself!!!!!!!!!!I'm giving a cheers with you, only my glass has coca cola in it. Your children are so beautiful, and Shelby should be a model if she isn't already.
It is no secret that we have not always agreed on everything. But I always learn something from you and isn't that what discussion and even sometimes arguments are for? Learning? You were one of my first followers on hubpages and were always supportive. You and I went through a major financial crisis at the same time. I prayed for you, you prayed for me, along with many other good people, and we both came out of it with flying colors. Neither of us lost our faith through the hardship, it only got stronger. I will never forget your concern for me when I felt completely alone and frightened. I find it a miracle, that a stranger can say a few words of encouragment to another stranger and stop them from wanting to end it all.
James, I know that you are close with God, I like to think I am as well, so will you pray with me for my oldest son? He is a boxer and has been training hard for sometime and this Saturday is his first REAL fight in the ring. I am so afraid. I know he is a good fighter with skill and heart, loves God more than anything, but as his mother, I am overly protective and don't want his brains beat in. Nor do I want to embarrass him by running into the ring and slugging the other guy if he should get the best of Shaun. Please pray with me for Shauns safety.
I have no doubt your book will be a bestseller. Don't forget us little people. LOL.
Love, peace, and joy to you and your family
Lisa

Congratulations James! I don't think it surprised anyone but I can understand your thrill of it. It's very nice to be appreciated and let me tell you your Mama looks young enough to be your wife! Here's to your next 300,000. They should come twice as fast. lol...I should have not missed it, sorry. But you know me always stirring up a page of trouble, but I always feel better when I have had my say. I would sure like you to write a piece on Jacob's trouble. I only got a small inkling lately but you could get it all I am sure. But I will enjoy whatever you do next. Oh and thanks for the pictures, a little insight of your life.
