HEBREWS
This is a brief summary of the Epistle to the Hebrews in the New Testament of the Bible.
God spoke through the prophets in the Hebrew Bible. Now He has spoken to us through His Son, the creator and heir of all things. Jesus Christ is the express image of God and the brightness of His Glory. Christ is our great and faithful High Priest.
Beware, brothers and sisters, of any among you with an evil heart who does not believe in the living God, lest your heart be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
The Holy Scriptures are alive and powerful. The Creator can read the intentions of the hearts and minds of all His creatures. All things are naked and open to Him—to whom we must one day explain our conduct. Hold fast to your belief in Jesus the Son of God. He can sympathize with our weaknesses because He became a man who was tempted as we are but yet without sin. Come boldly to the throne of divine love to obtain forgiveness.
WHO IS JESUS
Christ came in the flesh but did not glorify Himself. He prayed humbly and earnestly to His father. Jesus became the Author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. We cannot be saved by our good deeds. Salvation requires repentance and faith toward God. Jesus has made us certain that there is now a New Testament—and New Covenant (a binding promise from God that we will live forever after death if we follow the teachings of the New Testament). Jesus will intercede for us before God the Father as our holy and undefiled High Priest. He has the power to save us from destruction. He is our Mediator in the New Covenant taught in this New Testament.
BOOK OF HEBREWS
Christ, being without blemish, offers his blood (through the Holy Spirit) to clean your conscience to serve the Living God. Those who are called may receive the promise of eternal inheritance, after death and judgment. Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. He shall come again at the end of this age to judge the quick and the dead.
We have been set apart for the purposes of God through the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit witnesses to us, so we may draw near to God with a true heart, fully confident in our faith. Hold fast to your hope and belief without wavering, for God is faithful regarding His promises.
LETTER TO THE HEBREWS
In the Old Testament are the stories of many remarkable men of faith, such as Noah, Abraham and Moses. Now we, surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses, lay aside the weight of sin, which so easily ensnares us. Let us with endurance run the race set before us, looking to Jesus, who endured the cross for us.
God may inflict Christians with suffering for the purposes of our moral improvement. What child is not disciplined by its Father? We respect human fathers who correct us as it seems best to them. Let us be in submission to God our Father even more so if He disciplines us, that we may partake in His holiness. Now, being disciplined is no joy at the time—it's painful. But afterward, the training of God yields perfect peace; and the quality of being virtuous and morally upright.
JESUS RESURRECTION
Christians are to assemble together to stir up love and good works in one another. We are to urge each other to remain true, for if we fall into rebellion our salvation is no longer sure. This would be to trample the Son of God underfoot and insult the Holy Spirit. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Christians have an enduring treasure waiting for them in heaven. Our faith is the substance of things hoped for. By faith we understand that the Universe was created by our Creator—that all we see was made by what we don't see. It is impossible to ever please God without faith. Obviously, to find favor with God one must believe that He Is—and believe that He will reward those who are constantly, persistently making an effort to know Him.
RESURRECTION OF JESUS CHRIST
If we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, we shall not escape. Let us have grace and serve God acceptably with reverence and awe. Love your Brothers and Sisters in the Faith. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so, some have—without knowing it—entertained angels. Remember those in prison. Treat marriage as honorable. Those who have sex outside of marriage or commit adultery will be judged by God. Do not desire what others have—be content with what you have.
HEBREWS
Do not fall for strange, exotic new doctrines. By Jesus Name, let us continually offer praise to God—the fruit of our lips. Do good and share what you have with those in need, for God is well please with such sacrifices. Pray for each other. May the God of peace who raised our Lord Jesus from the dead, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will; working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
I have previously published articles summarizing Paul's letters to the churches; and the General Epistles of James, Peter, John & Jude.

Beautiful hub, as always, James. And I feel like I have been to church already!
Hx said it perfectly ... succinct. hard to comment on that.
Per my comments on your last Blog, I had to laugh put loud. I had never heard of the proverbial 'Widow's Mite' you had mentioned a couple of weeks back.
I navigated to this page only to notice on the right-hand side the ad for "Widow's Mite Coins. Purchase authentic Biblical coins from time of Jesus Christ".
Just goes to show we might never have heard of something but somewhere in the Wild West of the Internet - there's a website for it!
James A Watkins
One thing is certain, When God sees a believer he is looking at Jesus. If this was not so we wouldnt stand a chance. There is only one "Son", God is pleased with, and it was Jesus. so if he is in you then you are in him and we are one.
Great stuff
Go well
You can't get this kind of education anywhere.I bet you are blessed a hundred fold for educating so many.
James, your take on the Epistle to the Hebrews is brief and to the point. An excellent hub as always. God bless you brother.
James A Watkins,
You have done a wonderful job here!
Hebrews shows a wonderful contrast between the Old and New Testaments! It tells us how we have direct access to God, we can approach His throne boldly! It is very liberating when you know that the Lord knows your heart!
As you stated "We have been set apart for the purposes of God through the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit witnesses to us, so we may draw near to God with a true heart, fully confident in our faith. Hold fast to your hope and belief without wavering, for God is faithful regarding His promises." Praise God!
Great commentary, beautiful illustrations as well!
Blessings
Hello James a most sincere thank you for your excellent hub.
James ,
This is an absolutely wonderful piece...Printing it off for some edifying reading for the kids!
James,
As always thank you.
James I believe you are a great teller of the Greastest Message ever told. The Message of Jesus is THE MESSAGE of redemtion. The Message is accepted in our heart through the blessing of the Holy Spirit.
In spite of our own sins we must pray to The Father and Creator of all that ever was, is, and shall ever be, in the name of Jesus.
Thus our sins will be forgiven and like Jesus we also enjoy the everlating life with God The Father, and He who sits at His right hand.
May God bless and keep you brother.
Wonderful summary of the book of Hebrews. It's really great.
Very good hub as usual. Good teaching Bro. Thanks.
I went to church after oversleeping, actually. I try to always go on Sunday. Sometimes I do miss Wednesday nights, though!
I do have a Bible. I always read it when I have time. But I only enjoy some words.
James, I especially enjoyed this hub. It explained Hebrews, which I consider a lot to understand, very logically. You have a God given gift with your writing skill.
I appreciate this timely hub. It has a lot of depthness. Thanks for the insight. I always enjoy reading your hubs.Keep it up.
Excellent Hub, James. I liked your words, layout, and especially your beautiful paintings. I especially admire the Harry Anderson pictures of the Savior. It is all well put together and speaks well of you, James, the author of a great article. Don White

My friend a nice hub like always. Now about CHRISTIANITY and all books ,i think they add more stress in our lives, cause they born heavy ideas. My opinion
James -
Another very beautiful hub!
On the topic of stress and Christianity:
A friend of my (a college professor) from the Dominican Republic once said to me (unsolicited by me and from out of the blue) that Christianity is the only sane belief system. I never thought of it that way until he said this and, upon comparison with other belief systems, I found I agreed with him.
Wonderful post, Infused with vivid clarity that really brings the message home.
Another fascinating Hub. I got out my bible to compare your commentary. Excellent work.
There are a number of theologians who believe that Hebrews was not an Epistle as such but the recording of a sermon. It certainly reads as if it could be. Do you have any thoughts on that?
My love for our Heavenly Father has found and angel to take me by the hand to read and savor your wonderful and educational work. It is profoundly fantastic to love God, but also to learn as much as we can of our Lord in Heaven. God Bless You.
Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I wrote a 12 chapter Mini Series Tear Jerker :) I'm Back! This Hub is great. Hebrews is a fantastic book to begin with and you brought great life to it. I love the artwork as always. Hebrews pretty much sums up what Christianity is all about, Who Christ is and what Christians are supposed to act like doesn't it! I love it!
One day my friend I'm going to collect all your articles into a definitive volume of histories. it will hold an honored place on my bookshelf.
Respect!
Good Work, James.
Thank You for you hub. I love the Emerald Throne I have that picture on my pc just to enjoy.
I can't top the greatest comments here, but what I can say is God bless your love for jesus and Gods word, you captured a fine post. Keep up your journey, your doing great.
I missed seeing you in my morning mail for a while, I now know where you've been! Doing your homework and doing it well.
Thanks for passing your keen insight on to all that will partake.
what a beautiful hub James! I love Hebrews as well. Gods Word is like music to my ears. We do have heaven to look forward to. I'll read this hub over again. Thanks james great job!
Thank you James, This is a good summary of Hebrews. I hope to begin studying it in depth next year!
Thank you! I am enjoying being here, there is so much to learn.
James, Your summary nicely highlights this New Testament book.
My favorite passage is 13:2, "Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."
It would be impossible, I think, to reference this book without that powerful passage. You nicely inserted it into your summary.
Well done!
